Revisional Bariatric Surgery

Often times when a patient undergoes bariatric surgery and follows the post-operative instruction, patients lose significant weight and maintain their weight loss. However, there are times when a patient does not lose anticipated weight after surgery or patient has lost good weight but later regained some weight or all of their weight back. If this has happened to you, do not feel alone or ashamed now is the time to consider revisional surgery to help get you back on your weight loss success journey.

Examples of revisional bariatric surgery include:

Appollo Endostich after gastric bypass surgery. This procedure is nonsurgical, no incisions and no recovery. Our surgeon places an endoscope through the mouth and with sutures revises the stomach pouch to a smaller size.

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric band over gastric bypass. The gastric band is placed on the proximal part of the stomach pouch and is connected by tubing to a port under the skin. The port is accessed monthly and saline is added to the band to cause the patient to gain sensation of restriction of food.

Single-Anastomosis Duodenal Switch after laparoscopic gastric sleeve. Please see Single-Anastomosis Duodenal Switch table under weight loss surgery for description.

If you have regained weight or experienced a complication from your primary bariatric surgery please contact our office at 718-583-7403 for a consultation.
